Last day of Jan.

Trying to finish getting my paperwork cleaned up and making copies of things now that my printer will print the color. We went to Gerry's & Ellen's to play Hand & Foot and had a good time visiting with them. Ethel did the washing today as last time I did the washing I seemed to have a lot of pain but I think I am recovering quite well. Thank God for helping me.

Fun

Today we went and had hair cuts then we went to Sprouts for a few things. I worked on arranging things at my desk and also my room. I tried to get caught up with my Bible reading. I helped Ethel with the puzzle which we started yesterday.  We went to the club for our games of "Hand and Foot"

O Another Blog

Yesterday I didn't write a blog as I was so busy doing other things. Alan left for L.A. yesterday at noon and I entered all the names and phone numbers into the new phone. Today I did some business on the new phone and O what a difference from the old one as now I can hear very well and don't have to ask for people to repeat or I just didn't really get the message. Yesterday we also went to play Rummy-Q and each Ethel and I won $6.80. Before we went I told Ethel I don't think I want to go as the last couple times we went I played so bad, but Ethel said we need to get out so I went. Well today we went to Scripps as I had to get lab work done and Ethel had the Doctor check her as she had a rash so she got a prescription. Then we went to Mc Donalds for breakfast as I had to fast for 10 hours before the lab work. Then we went to Wal-Mart in Poway and after our shopping each one of us had a cart and Ethel being faster than I she went several isles of cars to the left and I tried to call to her but she didn't hear me. So she was looking all over for the car and finally a lady asked if she could help her and the lady was very helpful and directed Ethel over to me. Well we just laughed about it.
May be Ethel has it in for shopping carts. Do you think? Well this afternoon we got out a 1,000 piece puzzle and the pieces were so small and odd shape that we put it back in the box and will take it down to the club.

Rain

We went to our ceramics class, Alan went to play tennis. For lunch we had scalloped potatoes, broccoli and turkey meat balls. afternoon snack was lemon pie. Alan took us to Home Depot to buy filters for the heater and Ethel purchased 4 Camellias. Then we went to Best Buy for a turn table for the T.V., they informed us we have to buy on-line. While we were out we received a little rain. Ethel & I played some Rummy-Q and we just had soup for dinner with crackers and peanut butter. Watched news which showed the big snow storm on the east coast and how the travel was almost to a stand still for a couple days.

Sunday

What a great day to worship the Lord. Alan, Ethel & I went to the 8:30 am service. Pastor Bruce presented the message with the scripture Genesis 3 6-13 he presented that scripture so great. After the worship service we went to Marie Callender's for lunch. We had a restful afternoon and I entered the phone numbers in the new telephone, then we went back to the church FOR THE 4:00 PM concert of THE PERFECT GENTLEMEN which was of 4 men with their talent of singing and preforming. When we returned home we had a few snacks including Marie Callender's lemon pie. 

Busy Day

Alan installed our New Telephone which we purchased yesterday, it is a at&t phone and it seems like it has some good features like Speaker Phone and storage of over 50 phone #'s and also answering service which died on our old phone. I was going over things with Alan as he installed the phone. Then I made a list of all phone #'s to install and reprinted the #'s for the cub for the kitchen and master bedroom. Well my next project is to install all of those #'s. Oh what fun. This evening Alan took us to Cost-Co for gas and Best-Buy to turn in the old telephones and purchase a longer telephone cord. Then we went and had ham burgers then we went to Sports Authority. When we arrived home Alden was leaving a message that he wanted to come over to watch the basketball game with S.D.ST. & Colorado ST. Well I guess it is time for me to go to bed now.

Yes we are very happy to have Alan here and the time goes by too fast. I know Lovely says time goes too slow when Alan is gone, it seems like she misses him. Today Ethel & I went to the ceramics class and Tess & Mary taught us some very interesting things. We didn't have time to work on any of our projects. This afternoon we went to a entertainment at the Club "not too good". When we came home I went to my easy chair and slept for 2 hours, WOW how could I? This morning Alan left to go to Alden's to Gulf and go to Paige's socker game. He just returned here and said he had a great time and the weather was so great for gulf but a little chilly tonight the the game..

Back to Alden's Birthday

We had a great surprise Birthday for Alden the pictures will show.Today Ethel and I went to the club to play hand & foot then Alan was at the house and we went to Marie Calender's for dinner then we went to Best Buy to buy a new AT&T telephone which has 4 phones so now Ethel gets one for her room also. We will pray that Alan will not have too much trouble to install it. Well here are Alden's Birthday Pictures.

Learning new games

We have been busy since Ida came on Friday 1/16/2015. Of course there is a lot of talking and whatever. Ida got me involved in doing puzzles on the computer. Oh what fun! We took a little drive to see the yards of some of our friends from ceramics. I took some pictures, so here they are.

Busy Day

I guess I was real comfortable  this morning as Ethel came and woke me up. After breakfast we went to our ceramics class, I worked on a large light green worm. We went home and had lunch then I went back to the club for painting class. I finished my picture with the light house and brought it home. I am not pleased with it so I plan on doing 2 other pictures. We waited for Ida to come from Dale's so she arrived about 7:15 pm then we went to Co-Cos for dinner. When we got home we talked until 10:30. So Good Night!

Another project

Good Morning
We made veggies, turkey bacon, veggies, cheese & eggs for breakfast, what ever you call it. It was good. Then I finished a project which I started yesterday. Making a lining for Dad's medicine chest to put my hand made jewelry.

Shopping

I did my usual Bible reading and massage in my chair. We had Cream of wheat for breakfast of course with raisins. We vacuumed the floor and mopped the tile floor. We went to W.F. Bank then to Michael's and Ralph's. I worked on lining a box for my hand made jewelry.

Sunny Day

I got up a little later this morning and did my Bible reading and massage in my chair. What a beautiful day. This morning I did some rearranging of things in my room then I made a cabbage salad for this evening, we just had peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with the salad when we returned from the club where we played Rummy-Q. Of course we dipped into the candy box. I don't seem to have any luck with it. O well we get a chance to visit with the ladies.

Something for Regina

This morning started out with ceramics at 8:30 am. I went to Wells Fargo to get a VISA card to use to pay for the Cruise. Then we went to Best Buy to have them fix Ethel's Ipad. After that we went across the parking lot to Marie Calenders for lunch. A peace of lemon pie went with the lunch which we took home for our afternoon snack. This afternoon we did some rearranging of things in the kitchen.While at the ceramics this morning I took a picture of the surprise for Regina. I will have Alan deliver this when he comes to U.S..

rainy sunday

We went to church and it was raining then we went to Home Depot to check on material for the rain gutters for the patio roof. Then we went to Co-Co's to have lunch but they were so busy that we just went home and had chicken ravioli which was very good. This afternoon we played some Rummy-Q. Now we are trying to find out how to put pictures on Ethel's Ipad and we could not figure it out so I guess we will go back to Best Buy for help.

Not much today

We received out paperwork for the final payment of our cruise which has to be received by Jan. 16th 2015. Ethel and I painted the pantry door with the same paint as the sun room. The intention is to paint it the same color as the kitchen walls. It makes the room look so much brighter.

Time flys

Here it is Friday again so off to the club again for ceramics. I worked on Regina's gift, I sure hope it turns out OK, I want to have it done when Alan comes. This afternoon we went to a travel meeting and they showed a movie of MAYA. It looked so familiar as I recall our cruise in 2011 when we went down there. We found out that they are sending us the paperwork for the final payment of the Panama Canal cruise by Snail Mail. We checked to see if our cruise goes to MAYA and we found out that it does not go there. I am looking forward for the cruise now as my leg, hip & back are feeling much better Thank God for being with me.

LOVE

Yes Lovely I just read your blog and it really touched me when you said about how you always end your conversation with you LOVE your mom and your mom LOVES you. I know she really means it and you really mean it also. Your mom called and said she wants Ethel and I  to come to see her as she is unable to come to see us. Today I went to Elite to get a copy of the water bill to send to the Water Co. for a rebate for installing a new high rise water saver toilet in the master bath room. Alden installed it and he did a great job. "Thanks Alden."Then we went to the Bank and  we went to play "Hand and Foot" with the ladies.

Relaxing day

There was not much activity today. I looked at pictures on the computer and I will post a couple pictures.

Shopping

God has given us a beautiful day. I got up at 6:30 am this morning and got dressed and as usual I go to my easy chair for a massage and heat on my hip. This helps with my Arthritis. I am feeling better as I don't need to use the cane but I can not be on my feet very long yet. We made pancakes for breakfast as we did not have any milk. At 9:00 am we went shopping at Walmart. We had quite a large list to purchase. Well we were so busy shopping as each one of us used a basket and all the sudden we were minus Ethel's basket, she had left it over in the produce section, well of course we really had a laugh. By the time we got home and put everything away it was time for lunch of left over chicken and dumplings. We played a couple games of Rummy-Q, did reading and worked on the computer. I made mac & cheese and broccoli for dinner. After the game shows on TV I did my Bible reading. So now Good Night.

Warmer Day

We had a beautiful day today in the lower 80 deg. We went to ceramics this morning and came home and had left-over chicken & dumplings. Had our lunch in the patio. I was trying to help Ethel to put pictures on her blog but I couldn't figure out how to, I suggested for her to put her pictures in albums I don't know if that would help. May be Alan can figure how to do it. Well here are 2 pictures of us having lunch outside.

1st Sunday of 2015

We made French toast for breakfast then we went to the 8:30 am service and we did not go out for lunch so we came home and I made Chicken and dumplings. We relaxed for the afternoon and did some reading like catching up on my Bible reading and other reading and a few games of Rummy-Q.. We had left over pizza for evening snack. Of course there seems to be so many snacks from the Holidays that we MUST eat, right???? I guess I need to take some pictures to fill in.

It's COLD

Well the last couple nights has been down to freezing and we got frost on the lawn and a few plants. Tom covered the fruit trees. It has been too cold to open up the sun room as there is no heat in the sun room. We finished taking down the Christmas decorations and packed them away. I am posting some pictures.

Holidays over

Yes the Holidays are over and if you don't know what Baked Alaska is. It's chocolate cookie with a mound of ice cream covered with a whipped egg white baked in the over then light with a fire. Well it was delicious. Today we went to our ceramics class and took down the Christmas decorations in the house. Of course we played a couple games of Rummy-Q. I just started a Bible study tools by Charles Stanley. I chose the one on the "Life Of Christ." This is from Jan. 1,2015 through Feb. 15,2015.
