Missing Alan's Family

This morning after my shower I had my coffee and peach yogurt with my medication. We went to Church then we went to Denny's. I told the manager that seven of us were there Monday July 23 for my Birthday but Denny's was closed so we ended up going to I-HOP. So I received my Birthday meal today. When I came home I have been reading the book "What if Jesus Had Never Been Born".  It is very interesting.

In the afternoon we had a Ice Cream Cone again, O so good. We played several Rummy-Q games and again each one of us won the same amount of games. Next time we will keep score on our games.

Ops I Missed Yesterday

Another Hot Day

This morning for breakfast I had my coffee, half of a banana and a maple bar. I shortened my pants which Lovely gave me. For lunch we had leftover lasagnas. At 2:00 pm we went to "Hand and Foot" Ethel and Marianna played against Mary and myself. The first game they had over 5,000 points and Mary and I had 700 points in the cellar. We ended up with Mary and I winning, That is the way it goes. You never know what you will end up with. But we had fun. Of course, Marianna treated us to candy snacks.

At 5:00 pm we all went to a pizza shop where we met with Mark and his family. After pizza they all came over here for desert and drinks.

Alan explained to me how to download my pictures from my new cell phone camera which I am trying to learn how to use.

Getting Things in Order

This morning as usual we had coffee from Taiwan and cold cereal. Then I made copies of my will and trust for Alden. I sent a letter to my Doctor to see if she has a copy of my "Advance Health Care Directive" in her file. Lovely wrote a follow up message to clarify what I was asking about and Scripps responded, saying they don't have anything on file. I'm so glad Lovely sent another email as I will drop off this paperwork tomorrow. And I sent Alden's file with Hailey who came over to pick up Isaiah and Abigail as they are staying overnight there.
For lunch and dinner we had leftovers and Lovely doctored up the leftover and made a huge salad. I had seen pictures of Diana and Tony's 2016 trip to Samoa and Lovely helped me to find those pictures as there were many that reminded me of Al! Here are a few pictures which look familiar to me:

My 89th Birthday

This morning at 11:00 am we went to Denny's for my Birthday meal but Denny's was closed for cleaning. So we went over to IHOP which I received a stack of pancakes. We each ordered a meal and I had the 55+ Rise & Shine! At 1:00 pm we went to Hand and Foot. There were five of us so we had to play single -- Marianna, Mary, Rosalie, Ethel and myself. The ladies brought cards and cupcakes to celebrate my birthday.

At 4:00 pm we went to the Escondido Mall. Lovely and I went to Sears for my cologne and Ethel, Alan and the kids went to the Apple Store to check on Ethel's iPad. Lovely and I walked down to meet up with them. I used my walker and it was nice and cool inside the mall for a walk.  We then went to Black Angus for dinner. Lovely registered me in the Prime Club, so I received a coupon for a free steak dinner and dessert. What a great birthday!

Family Time at Alden's

We went to RBCC this morning and we spent time in the patio at church as they were serving soft shell tacos. I had an upset stomach so I rested most of the afternoon then we left at 3:30 pm to go to Alden's for dinner. There was a house full of family members and I didn't know it was going to be a celebration of Alan's 60th and my 89th birthday.

Alden and Gina prepared such a delicious dinner.

I didn't take pictures of the BBQ chicken and the baked potatoes and all the other things they prepared.

After dinner we went over the paperwork of my Will and my Trust. We didn't get home until about 10:00 pm.

Shopping

Today was Ethel's turn for washing clothes. Lovely and Abby polished my car, looks like new except for a few dents O well it is 15 years old, but still is a great car for us. We cleaned the TV cabinet of many things we don't use. Alan took out the Panasonic unit as it doesn't work, I don't know what will become of it.
Lovely, Ethel, Abby and I went shopping at Wal-Mart and Cost-Co, we were going to get pizza there but it was a hour wait so we ended up having things from our Freezer. Hailey came over and She and Abby were going to an event at the convention center tonight.

This morning I set up the crock pot with a pork roast. Then I went to Albertson's for veggies to put in and make a stew. I also checked things on my new Apple cell phone. Did my Bible reading.  We had sandwiches for lunch. This afternoon Ethel and I played a few games of Rummy-Q . Ethel won 3 games and I won 2 games. This evening we had a delicious dinner of stew. Alan, Lovely, Isaiah and Abby went to RBCC to watch From Pit to Palace, a production from the Fine Arts Academy at the church.

Fun Time

Today we went to Alden's to pick up Paige, Isaiah and Abby as they went to midnight bowling last night. Hailey was too tired from her weekend trip to Las Vegas. We went to Seaport Village for a few hours then we went over to "The Boat House" for their lobster dinner. It was a great dinner. On our way home while driving by the San Diego Bay we viewed many sail boats on the water. It was so beautiful. Then we took Paige home and we returned home. Alan was our tour guide. "Thanks Alan!"

Hair Cut and Other Things

We had a rest day... In the morning Ethel and I went and got our hair trimmed.

Lovely made a great stir fry for lunch. We made a big green salad and salmon with boiled eggs for sandwiches for dinner. The weather went up to 89 degrees but was still quite comfortable without the AC. We only used the fans. Abby is still down at Alden's. Alan and Isaiah went to the library and Lovely walked down to Albertson's for a few things including bananas for me as I had leg cramps last night.

"Lovely" Window Washer

This was quite a different day as for the first time our windows have been cleaned on the outside. So Lovely did it! I could not get the screens out to clean the windows but Lovely got them off and proceeded to get on a step ladder to get the outside and the frame washed. Now the windows are so clean that I can't tell if they are open or closed. Lovely cleaned the shelf and all the ceramics on the shelf. Well that is another task done. This afternoon Alan and Lovely went down to Alden's as Isaiah and Abby are down there.

Here is a picture I found that helps you to see how clean my windows are now!

Lost in the mountains

Today Alan. Lovely Isaiah, Abby, Ethel and I took off at 12:00 noon to go to Jamul to meet with Chad and investigate the property which Chad purchased. Chad is doing a lot of work on this property to prepare to build a house and workshop. Well, we were to meet there at 1:00 pm but we got lost so we finally got there just after 1:30. We had lunch together with leftovers which Maria and Chad had from company the day before as they had a house full for a memorial of one of Chad's friends. We had a good time up in the mountains. There are large trees on his property, so it was not too hot!

The rain came

Last night about 11:00 pm we got rain for about five minutes. The humidity was quite high. This morning Alan and Isaiah went to play tennis. At noon we went to Chick-fil-A for lunch and we received six free chicken sandwiches as we were dressed in black and white and today was their special day. "Eat Mor Chikin!" The sandwich was soooo good. Then Alan drove us to Fry's in Mission Valley and we shopped there before driving over to Alden's. McKenna and Andrew opened their wedding gifts. They received such great gifts and cards. Then Andrew and Josh went to In-and Out for the group but some of us didn't order as we were still filled up from Chick-fil-A. We had a great time telling and listening to stories. Of course Lovely was playing games with the kids.

Work day

Today was a work day. It was a good day to work outside as the sun wasn't blaring hot. Alan cleaned the top of the sun room and the gutter which was very dirty with tree debris and leaves. Alan then rehung some of Ethel's hanging plants by putting in two more hanging hooks. We cleaned the patio carpet. Lovely replaced the light in the kitchen and she tried to replace the light in the guest bathroom but she was unable to get the old light out so we will not replace that light. Lovely helped me with some things on the computer. This afternoon we went to the club to play Hand & Foot. Lovely joined us for a short time. We still had so much leftovers, so that's what we ate. It has been so nice to have Alan and Lovely here to help us with these things. Abby is at Alden's and Alan picked up Isaiah from Alden's this morning so that they can go and play tennis together. I think I'm going to blog every day while they are here. If I have questions, I will have some "experts" to help me out!
