Ceramics

This morning we went to ceramics and I worked on my cookie jar. worked a puzzle and a Rummy-Q on the internet. I did reading and Ethel and I played some Rummy-Q in the sun room.

Warmer day

Well it seems like we are getting some summer weather. We went to play cards and Rosealee showed up, she has not been with us for a while as she had a knee replacement and was scheduled for gallbladder surgery for tomorrow but that was cancelled we don't know why. This evening we had the third and last serving of our lasagna from Mama Cellas.

Great Day

At 11:00 am we went to pick up Mary as she wanted to treat us to Mama Cellas"s. We came home and Mary stayed to play Rummy-Q. Then I took Mary home and did reading and relaxed until dinner time.

shopping

This morning we went to the 99 cent store my big purchase was $1.63 for six greeting cards. What a deal each card was 25 cents plus tax. They are really great cards with the plastic covers. I got some for the special days on the cruise and everyone can sign. Then we went to Wells Fargo and to Wal-Mart. Lovely spoiled us so when we went to Cost Co I purchased ice cream cones which we use for a afternoon snack.

No game shows tonight

This morning I went to ceramics and I worked on the cookie jar cover. It is ready to fire. I will not paint the cookie jar until I find out the the cover is OK. This afternoon we went to play cards.

Sunday

Today at 8:00 am we were ready to go to Church and I looked out and it had just started to rain so I went to get my raincoat. The rain was not very heavy but had to have the rain coat. After church we went to Denny's for brunch. I spent the afternoon reading and relaxing. We had soup for dinner.

A Great Day

Yes today was a beautiful day sun to start and later off and on clouds. I did the washing today and I also did some house cleaning. I made a great green salad and marinated the salad with a raspberry dressing.  This salad is soo great.

A Beautiful day

Even the temp was in the forties this morning and I did not feel like getting out of the bed as in the house it was in the low 60's, Well we had waffles with blueberries for breakfast. Then we went to the club for ceramics and I worked on my cookie jar. I hope it will turn out OK as many things are not turning out very well and we don't know why if it is the paint or what as some of the paint is very old paint. I am trying to paint the maple leaves like this.

prepare the chicken

Yesterday we purchased a chicken from Cost-Co so we had chicken for lunch and dinner yesterday.Today I carved some to put in the freezer, then I boiled the rest and I pulled the meat off the bones and I made 3 more servings for the freezer.  This afternoon we went to play cards and Rosealee came but she did not play as she is still not feeling well after knee surgery. Next week she will have a gull bladder surgery.

Shop Cost-Co

This morning we went to Cost-Co and got gas then we did our shopping. They had ice cream conesl and bar-B-Q ribs on special so we purchased two of each. we also purchased a Br-B-Q chicken. Now our freezer is full. Alden just called to see if my chair is working and I told him it is great.

Not much to say

I had a great night rest. I got up at 6:00 am this morning and I made cream of wheat with raisins for breakfast, was good to have a hot breakfast. Ethel made stew for lunch. We wanted to use up some of the frozen steaks as it has been in the freezer since last summer. I started reading a six week outline in the Bible.

Rain

This morning there was no rain until about 8:00 am it poured down. Ethel started the wash and she had to wait between the rain to finish. I was going to go to ceramics but I didn't want to go in the rain. The afternoon cleared up so we went to play cards, there was just four of us Mary, karol, Ethel and myself.

Sunday

This morning we went to church and it was a good thing we took our rain coats as we were going to go to the car after church and it was raining. We went right home and we had chicken noodle soup for lunch. Alden called about 2:00 pm and he was going to come over to try the chair remote as he worked on it. Well what do you know it works. He had to take it all apart to connect the wires there was 8 wires which had to be connected. Then he taped it together. Now it works for heat, vibrating, up and down and dump out but we cannot vary the vibrating. But that is OK. So no new chair and no new remote. Thank God as the chair is still in good condition.

Saturday

Well today is a very slow day, I tried to use my chair with my feet on another chair but it didn't work. This evening Alden came to check the chair and he took the remote home to see if he could repair it. I checked on Lazboy on line and there is one available but my remote has to have a 11540 code to use it. So I left a message to Alden to check the code. The cost is $98.50. It doesn't look quite like my remote.

Sun most of the day

Yes today we had sun most of the day. Also we received several times when the wind was very strong. This morning we went to the club for ceramics. Also we played several games of Rummy-Q. Then there was reading. I made rice pudding.
This is the chair that I am thinking of purchasing if Alden can not fix the remote on my chair.

Bad news

First I did not sleep much last night as about 2:00 pm I ate a few cashew nuts and my stomach was really upset, this happened a week ago but I ate the nuts at about 6:00 pm. May be I am allergic to them. Next I went to use my chair to take a nap and I could not recline it so I checked the remote and I saw some wires outside of the remote so I sent Alden a message if maybe he could fix it other wise I will need to purchase a new chair but not the dump out kind.

shopping

This morning after breakfast we went to Wal-Mart to shop. I had a surprise as I had a women's top which I wanted to return, I had no receipt and all tags removed it was purchased with my visa and I received the credit on the item. Ethel made chicken stir fry for lunch and we didn't feel like eating this evening so we each had a yogurt.

Wash day

This morning I did the washing, our real day for washing is Saturday but it was raining Saturday so I put it off for today. Then we went to get our hair cut. Not much else going on today.

A new day

Yes this morning I made scrambled eggs with vegetables. We went to ceramics and I worked on my cookie jar. For lunch it was baked potato chicken strips and mixed vegetables. This afternoon we went to play cards. I was real lucky today as out of five games I had four games with a 2,000 book. There was five of us so we didn't play partners.

Mother's Day

This morning we went to church it had been raining early this morning. We came home and had a snack. Alden came over to pick us up to go to his house for dinner. Before we went to his house he installed the head light and wipers. I told him my car needed some miles on it so he drove my car down to his place. They served a great dinner grilled hamburgers with all the trimmings, potato salad, baked beans and a chocolate cake with strawberries. They gave us some beautiful flower boutiques. Alden brought us back and he spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing here.

More rain

Yes can you believe that. tomorrow is Mother's Day and we will have some rain again. I thank Alden as they will come and take us to their house. I would not be able to drive as I can't use the wipers and the head light is out. Also I don't care to drive on the freeway.

little rain

Very little rain this morning so I decided to go to ceramics as I am working on a cookie jar. We have been using a plastic nut container for our favorite fig cookies. I made spaghetti and meat balls for lunch I made too much so we had the same for dinner.

Great Day

This morning for breakfast I made omelets, for lunch we had chicken pot pies, for dinner chicken noodle soup. Everything quite easy to prepare. We went to the club to play cards. This evening while watching the news I received a call from "Out of Area" which shows on the TV and yes it was Alan to SKYPE. This was a Happy Mother's Day greeting. We talked about 20 mi. and Isaiah and Abby both greeted me. While on SKYPE I called Alden If he could get of SKYPE with Alan. He said he could.

No rain

Well there is a change, no rain this morning. I did some washing this morning. This afternoon Hsing came over to play Rummy-Q, we played 8 games and I was the looser. But we had a good time.

Rain again

Yes this morning was rain again, can you believe that. For lunch I used my new oven and I made candied sweet potatoes, mixed vegetables and fish. Then this afternoon I worked on cleaning the window ledges in the sun room, I killed 5 spiders in the corner where Ethel had the plants. I am glad she removed them. Then I cleaned the tile floor and vacuumed the carpet.

Rain again

When I got up this morning I said I don't feel like going to ceramics in the rain. Well we didn't go and then Ethel started to dismantle her plant stand in the sun room. There seemed to be a lot of bugs that were attracted to the plants and now I will be able to clean the window ledges easier. I told her to give some of those plants to Maria. For lunch I made scalloped potatoes as I wanted to use my new counter top oven which was on sale at Cost-Co.  I sure like it and the potatoes turned out great. This afternoon we went to the club to play cards. There was a lot of clouds but no rain.

Sunday

This morning we went to Church the message was "When I face fear God is never far away". There is no Bob's Bible Study class now for the summer which we really miss. We went to Denny's for brunch. The afternoon was spent reading and relaxing. At about 2:30 pm we had a ice cream cone then we played a few games of Rummy-Q

Ethel went to the Dr.

Today at 1:25 pm we went to pick-up Mary for cards so Ethel could go to the heart specialist. She was issued a monitor. There was only Mary, Karol and myself to play cards, Mary was the winner. On Jeopardy  James still won but he only made $80,000 so now he is getting close to $2 million. He is amazing.

Another day

This morning we went to Wal-Mart to shop. Our list was not too much but it was good to get out. Then the day was spent reading and relaxing. Yesterday I made a banana cream pie which was for our snack time today. Also we are enjoying the sun room for playing the Rummy-Q. For some reason I seem to win more when I play in the sun room.
