Lost in the mountains

Today Alan. Lovely Isaiah, Abby, Ethel and I took off at 12:00 noon to go to Jamul to meet with Chad and investigate the property which Chad purchased. Chad is doing a lot of work on this property to prepare to build a house and workshop. Well, we were to meet there at 1:00 pm but we got lost so we finally got there just after 1:30. We had lunch together with leftovers which Maria and Chad had from company the day before as they had a house full for a memorial of one of Chad's friends. We had a good time up in the mountains. There are large trees on his property, so it was not too hot!

The rain came

Last night about 11:00 pm we got rain for about five minutes. The humidity was quite high. This morning Alan and Isaiah went to play tennis. At noon we went to Chick-fil-A for lunch and we received six free chicken sandwiches as we were dressed in black and white and today was their special day. "Eat Mor Chikin!" The sandwich was soooo good. Then Alan drove us to Fry's in Mission Valley and we shopped there before driving over to Alden's. McKenna and Andrew opened their wedding gifts. They received such great gifts and cards. Then Andrew and Josh went to In-and Out for the group but some of us didn't order as we were still filled up from Chick-fil-A. We had a great time telling and listening to stories. Of course Lovely was playing games with the kids.

Work day

Today was a work day. It was a good day to work outside as the sun wasn't blaring hot. Alan cleaned the top of the sun room and the gutter which was very dirty with tree debris and leaves. Alan then rehung some of Ethel's hanging plants by putting in two more hanging hooks. We cleaned the patio carpet. Lovely replaced the light in the kitchen and she tried to replace the light in the guest bathroom but she was unable to get the old light out so we will not replace that light. Lovely helped me with some things on the computer. This afternoon we went to the club to play Hand & Foot. Lovely joined us for a short time. We still had so much leftovers, so that's what we ate. It has been so nice to have Alan and Lovely here to help us with these things. Abby is at Alden's and Alan picked up Isaiah from Alden's this morning so that they can go and play tennis together. I think I'm going to blog every day while they are here. If I have questions, I will have some "experts" to help me out!

Cool down

The weather took a change today as the high is in the 70's. This morning I washed clothes. At about 11:15 am Mary stopped by to talk as she was depressed today and needed to visit. I invited her to have lunch with us as I had made a chicken hot dish. Mary wanted to play Rummy Que with Ethel and myself. So we played a few games of Rummy Que in the sun room. As I looked out to the back yard this is what I saw, it was so beautiful I had to take a picture.

Warm-up

It seems like we are getting summer weather now, tempters was up to 86 degrees today. I opened my window this evening and the fresh air feels so good. Today Ethel did the washing and I cleaned another set of windows. I only have the living room windows left to clean. I am leaving the outside of the windows for Alan to clean as I am not very steady on the ladder. Yesterday we went to ceramics and I went to the treat mill. I don't know what I did but I lost the line of icons to click on a fast way to get to different things so now I have to type in each thing which is no problem and I know the computer man Alan will be here in about 3 weeks. Alan needs do have something to do anyhow
Ha! Ha!.I am very happy that Abby got her scooter license. That is great.

I have a list of things for Alan & Lovely to do when they come. Just small things so don't get excited.

My poor car

We have been having car problems. Last Wednesday Ethel had problems to start the car at Scripp's but it finally started.

Sunday after church my car didn’t start and quite a few people at church tried to help but no one could get it started so I called AAA and they jumped it and their tester showed starter problem so I drove right home. It being Sunday I was unable to take it to the Toyota dealer.

Monday morning when I sat in the driver seat the first thing I did was I prayed before I tried to start the car and what do you know it started I thanked God for the help.and I drove right to the Toyota dealer and they installed a NEW STARTER.

I noticed the name of the guy that helped me at Toyota was  TAFOLLA so I asked him if he was Samoan. He was a small guy with the complexion of a Samoan. He said so many people ask him that but he said I know Samoans are big. His father is Italian and mother is Mexican. I showed him a picture of my husband and he said well he is not big.
So I told him that my husband always said his wife feeds him RABBIT food. This is the picture I showed TAFOLLA.
