Christmas Party

Yesterday we went to Gerry & Ellen's for lunch and time to play "Hand & Foot". Ray and Gerry did a great job of serving. There were nine of us and we had a great time. Even Ethel, Pat and I had a bad time to win our game but it was still fun.

This morning we went to ceramics, only 4 of us and Tess will be leaving for her vacation on the train to Texas.

At 1:00 pm Time Warner came to pick up the hardware for the T.V. as I cancelled the Time Warner T.V. service. The reason the service was getting to cost so much even after I called several times to see if I could get a better rate and they would not budge, so I had DISH service installed at about 1/2 the price. I still have the internet and phone service under Time Warner. After I cancelled Time Warner T.V. service they called and sent priority mail to me to come back to Time Warner.

Update of Thanksgiving

Ethel and I left at 12:00 noon to go down to Alden's. Ethel's grandson Sam came to Alden's to take Ethel to Chad's for a get together there, Ethel took Pumpkin pie from Cost Co.
I stayed at Alden's. They cooked a great dinner with everything for Thanksgiving, turkey, ham, dressing, green bean hot dish, sweet potatoes and plenty of mashed potatoes and gravy. I took apple pie and pecan pie and rolls from Cost Co. I informed Alden that I will not cook anything this year but I can pick up something from the store. After dinner there was the game of shuraids played and everyone helped themselves to desert. In the evening we watched a movie. I stayed over night and Friday morning when I got up Alden and I had some time talking over what was on our minds until the rest of the family joined us. I left Alden's at about 1:00 ppm to drive home as Ethel called and said Sam had already taken her home.
Today we went to Church, pastor Dr. Mofid was the speaker on " Hope: Light Shines in the Darkness" from Genesis 1:1-3, Deuteronomy 32:10-11, Luke 1:35
After Church we went to Marie Calenders for brunch and this afternoon we put up some Christmas decorations.

Last Prime Time for 2015

Today we went to the last Prime Time for 2015. There was a great attendance again. The entertainment was MICHAEL RUHL vocalist. I have to tell the story, one of the ladies from our "Hand & Foot" group went to sleep while Michael was singing and the vocalist saw her and came down from the platform and sat on the chair if front of her and sang to her, she was so surprised.
So don't go to sleep when among a group of people. But we all had a good laugh oh so much fun.

The lady that did devotions is the head of the Presbyterian Thrift Shop which all profits go to missionaries.

The Luncheon was Turkey Buffet with all the trimmings ending with pumpkin pie.

At 3:00 pm we went to our Hand & Foot card game at the club.

Prime Time

Yesterday we went to Prime time at Church and there was a very large attendance, over 100 people. The entertainment was "The Sophisticats" which played and sang many old time favorites. The table discussion was "your favorite vacation" Ethel told about her vacation to Florida on the motorcycle. She received a cookie made at RBCPC kitchen.  The Menu was "White Chicken Enchiladas"

In the afternoon we went to the club for the game of "Hand and Foot". There was nine ladies present.

This morning we went to our ceramics class. This afternoon we went to the Travel lecture which was on Pearl Harbor, very interesting. This evening I made a hot dish with Shrimp and pasta but it did not turn out like the one we had at Applebees. So I guess we will have to go back to Applebees.

Physical Therapy

This morning I got up at 5:45 am and got ready for the day as I was uneasy in bed so I relaxed in my chair for a while. Then we had oat meal with raisins for breakfast and some of Lovely's package coffee. We left the house at 7:40 am to go to my 8:00 physical therapy appointment. I was advised to keep taking the assigned exercise and no need to return unless necessary.
Then we went to Home Depot for some things, then off to Wal Mart. We were on our way home at 10:10 am. We relaxed some and had the last of our chicken and dumplings.
At 1:15 pm we went to the club for Rummy-Q which we have not done since we went on the Alaska Cruise. I was lucky to win all 3 games and I collected $3.00.
We came home and had left over pizza for dinner. Watched the News and game shows which I had a hard time staying awake.

BUSY BEA

This morning I got up to a very horrible odor and it was the sewer back-up in the shower and commode again. I called Tom to report it. After we had breakfast we went down to the ceramics room to see what was going on as we needed to return back home as the plumber would be arriving soon. So no work on any ceramics today.
For lunch we had some left over chicken and dumplings.
I did some cleaning up of files etc. as my file and safe were overflowing, I had to trash some unneeded paperwork. We had a little rain this afternoon. Ethel and I played some Dutch shuffleboard. I put some pizza in the oven with pineapple and extra cheese for dinner.
We watched the Charger against the Chicago Bears and the Bears won.

I went to Prim Time today and I took Mary with me. The speaker was Mark Carlson. the food was Stuffed Cabbage, rice, rolls, beet salad, bread pudding and drinks, it was very delicious.

Update

Yesterday Ethel and I went to Prime Time at Church. We were hesitating to go as we thought it would be about politics. The Mayor of Poway, Steve Vaus gave his testimony which was very interesting and touching which made tears come to my eyes. Steve told about how his father was into real bad things until he attended a Billy Graham service and was converted which turned his life around. Oh what a story which I wish everyone could hear. It makes me think Steve Vaus should get into politics and run for president of the USA to help change this country around the way it was in the beginning "IN GOD WE TRUST". They served a great lunch of Pork chops with mushroom sauce, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls, jello salad, ice cream, cookies, cup cakes and drinks. We had a doggie bag for dinner.
In the afternoon we went to meet with the ladies for "hand and foot".
Today we went to ceramics this morning and came home and had Chicken Pot pies for lunch. This afternoon we played a few games of Dutch Shuffleboard and Rummy-Q.
For dinner tonight we had Sweet Potatoes, chicken with sweet sauce and pineapple.

Feeling under the weather

This morning we had pancakes with blueberries which was very good. At 8:30 we went to ceramics and had a good time with the ladies just talking and some painting. We had a green salad and turkey sandwich for lunch. It was so nice outside we decided to have lunch outside, then the garden man came along with the noisy mower so we finished our lunch inside. Than Ethel went outside to pull some weeds and I started to clean the sun room, I started with the window ledges which were really dirty then cleaning the walls from the dead ants and vacuum and moving furniture etc. I finally decided to stop so what happened was I got that BAD syatic pain so I could hardly move., had to use the cane again and Ethel finished the vacuum. I rested a while in my chair and had some relief. But I still have to move very slowly.
I pray that I will be able to take the car to Toyota to get the break light fixed and go to Wal-Mart. I received the cell phone today the (Huawei Vision 2 4GB) which I am going to return as it seems too complicated for me and I will try the (Doro Phone Easy 626) which is more like the one I have. Since I have a time with all these new gadgets I will stick to the old type.
Well that was our day.

Feeling better

We are feeling better and will be going to Church tomorrow as we have not gone to Church since before our Alaska Cruise. Yesterday Alden and Josh came over and I went with them to watch Josh play Flag Football. The weather was great, after the game when we got on the freeway it started to rain. We went to Costco for gas and things for dinner, like Chicken, potato salad and blueberry muffins. While sitting at the table Alden spotted a army of ants from the sun room all the way to our snacks as they really liked some cookies which we had to trash. Alden did some checking on the left break light which kept going out. I think he found the problem as the bulb kept getting loose. Will have to keep a eye on it.
Today I did washing and this afternoon we went to Ellen and Gerry's to play hand and foot.

Home again

Ethel and I arrived home Oct. 2 from our Alaska Cruise.
At Juneau Alaska we enjoyed the Glaciers but are disappointed to see that they are fading away.
At Skagway Alaska we took the "White Pass Scenic Railway" train ride up the mountains and it was very amazing to see how the track was built in the side of the mountains and through tunnels and over bridges, this was about a 2 hour ride up the mountains and when we arrived at the top of the mountain they unhitched the locomotive and hitched it to the back end to go down the mountain as there was only one track to go on. The seats in the train cars were built to reverse to go down the mountain. There was a gas heater in each car and the heater in our car was running out of oil so we had to move to another car as it was quite cold.
At Ketchikan It was raining we took the tour of "Saxman Native Village & Lumber show" it was hard to walk through the paths as they were uneven and slippery so we had to really watch our step then they took us to the town to shop before the lumberjack show. We decided to go back to the ship as it was raining and we didn't want to shop.
At Butchart Gardens & Victoria Highlights the tour was very nice and the gardens were beautiful. Victoria is beautiful and the gardens were beautiful.
Ethel was not feeling well while at the Butchart Gardens and from then on for the rest of the cruise she was really under the weather.
When exiting the ship in San Diego everything was delayed and there was NO call for color exit. We were marched all around the ship even through the dinning rooms. Alden had to pick us up and when we finally got off the ship we called Alden to meet us in the center as he was waiting somewhere for us.

Gettong ready

This morning Ethel washed her bedding and the few items that were left to be washed. We have been using up the few things in the frig. so nothing will get spoiled while we are on our Alaska Cruise. We have most every thing done except the last minute things. Tomorrow we will go to Church and then have lunch and fill up the car with gas at Cost Co and pick up something to take to Alden's as we plan on driving down to Alden's at about 6:00 pm Sunday and hang out there until 4:00 am Monday so Alden can take us to the Air Port as out flight is at 6:30 am Monday morning to Portland and then to Vancouver. We will get the Cruise in Vancouver. This is a Inside cruise up to Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan, Vancouver and Victoria BC and ends at San Diego. This time we have a balcony on 9th deck #9034

A Busy Day

Yesterday we had quite a good rain. Alden and Gina came and picked us up to go to the Rancho Barnardo High School for Paige's Volley Ball game. After the game we went to Denny's for dinner.
Today I paid some bills and did some things on the computer, at 10:30 am I left to go to my acupuncture appointment and arrived home at 12:30 pm. I finished my Denny's left over for lunch.
I packed my suitcase for the Alaska Cruise.
At 4:45 pm we went to Church for the Wednesday night dinner. The menu was "Potato" which consisted of everything for baked potatoes, Chili, Soup, corn bread, everything for green salad and fresh fruit, Pizza, Ice cream with everything for topping and cookies, all kinds of drinks. Price was $7.50. We were so full when we finished. We sat at a table with Mercedies and Richard and I forgot the other ladies name. Very nice people. Richard is a 90 year old retired pilot of World War II lives on the same street as J.B.
Tonight after viewing News, and game shows we played a couple games of Dutch Shuffleboard.

HOT DAYS

Yes we have been having some hot days. Today it is a little cooler down to 95 degrees. It has been so hot that we have been using the A.C. This morning I did some laundry at 7:00 am as we were advised to not use ;much electric from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. At 8:30 am we went to our ceramic class. For lunch we had M.C. chicken pot pies. Then I vacuumed under my bed and polished my bed as they were to deliver my new spring and mattress this afternoon. It was delivered at about 4:00 pm. Ethel helped me make up my bed and it looks very nice, I hope I will sleep well tonight. I called Alden tonight and he said Paige is having a game next Tuesday at the R.B. high school so we might check it out. I sent a plate which I made with Alan to give to Lovely. I hope it gets to Taiwan without breaking. I tried to post some pictures but for some reason it doesn't work.

Monday

Today we went to our ceramics, Ethel fixed salmon, baked potatoes  and broccoli for lunch, we were wondering why Alan didn't show up and he had left a message that he would not be home for lunch but I didn't find the message until later when I tried to use the phone to make an appointment for a bone scan.
We played Dutch Shuffleboard and Ethel really beat me.
They are working on redoing the outside of our units. Today they worked on the laundry doors.

Another Hot Day

Well here is another hot day. I went to the car port and cleaned my car. I vacuumed the living room and dry moped the tile floors. Ethel washed the living room windows and vacuumed the patio. I made a hot dish with pasta and meat balls for lunch. This afternoon we will be going to our sister friends to play "Hand & Foot".
Yesterday they washed down the outside of the house and car port so there was a lot of dirt etc. which we didn't want tracked in. They installed a new door frame on our laundry shed. The next project will be to paint the outside of the condo and car port..

Saturday, August 22, 2015

Well here I am again

Today was a day for reading. This afternoon we went to the two sisters to play "hand and foot" we enjoy getting together with Gerry and Elleen. The last couple times Ethel and I played against them and we seemed to be the winners. But we have a good time.
After I purchased the game "Dutch Shuffle Board" Ethel and I have been playing some each day. When Alan comes back I hope to be able to put some pictures on the computer. Here is a couple pictures of Jon when he came and stayed over night.

Thanks Lovely

Well I want to THANK LOVELY for fixing my blog. It has been a few days since I was unable to get into my BLOG. We have been having such hot weather that we don't want to go outside. Alan is up at L.A. helping Annie and Karl while they went to New York to see William and also to help as they settle Kurtis for college. I will be going to another Acupuncture treatment this morning.
We have been doing our ceramics and Hand and Foot games and Rummy-Q at the club. Now that I purchased the Dutch Shuffle Board we play that also. I thank God for giving me some relief of pain on my leg and hip. Next time I will post some pictures.

Here I am again

Well I guess you are right as I need to post some pictures. I was having some trouble with my computer about pictures but since the COMPUTER MAN is here and fixed it so I will post some pictures.
Last Friday Alan and I went down to Alden's and Debby and Candace and McKenna's friend was there so I will post some of those pictures. You will see my hair cut in that picture.
Than Sunday we went to Church and then to IHOP and then to Wal Mart.
Today we went to ceramics and I finished Annie's 4 plates but they have to be fired again this week-end. Timing is just right as Alan plans to go back to L.A. next Monday and he can take them to Annie. For lunch Ethel made scalloped potatoes with spam and I made a green salad. After lunch I made 2 fresh peach pies. Sorry I didn't take a picture until after 2 RATS got into it.
We also heard that Al's sister Puna passed away so Alan plans to attend the service. Again timing is right as Alan planned to be in L.A. at that time. I need to go through my pictures of years ago to see if I can find some pictures of her as she lived with us for a couple years when she first came to the U.S.

The SCREEN lady came to put a rubber sweeper for the front doors. Alan went to the pool for a while then we got ready to go to the Escondido Mall, I purchased a pair of tan Skechers shoes. Alan looked for a pair of pants but couldn't find what he wanted so we went to dinner at Ali BaBa Mediterranean in Escondido. Here are a few pictures, Alan said Lovely will love to see these pictures.

Bea's 86th Birthday

Alan, Ethel and I left the house at about 10:30 am on 7/21/2015 we stopped at Lowe's to return some screen parts. We went to Vista Cost-Co to get gas, then we went to San Clemente for Mexican lunch. We drove to Annie's and Karl's where we stayed over night. I did a wrong thing to sit in Gracie's chair and I didn't understand DOG talk as Gracie kept trying to make me move. Well Annie made dinner and set a plate of food on the table in front of Gracie which was Karl's place, so Gracie sat there with her head turned away as if to ask the blessing and she never touched the food. It was amazing!!!
On 7/22/2015 we went to "The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum" this was very interesting. we also got the chance to tour the inside of "Air force One" plane and the Presidents helicopter. Then we went to visit some of Ethel's family. Then back to Torrance for the night.
On 7/23/2015 we went to Denny's for lunch and Alan purchased a Birthday cake for me With candles. After lunch Alan drove us to Pasadena and showed us around where Lovely use to live, Eddies school and we toured Johnathan and Judy's historical home which is being restored by Judy's brother-in-law. Oh what a beautiful place.
Next was to go to see the Gudino's and we had a great visit there. We left there about 9:00 pm to drive back to R.B.

Day to paint

This was a busy day. Ceramics from 8:30 am to 11:00 am. We had lunch then Alan and I went to Escondido to Lowe's to get parts for the screen door. The parts didn't work so we must return tomorrow. We came home and took a nap then Alan started the job of painting the kitchen. At first we decided that the color was too light so Alan went back to Home Depot to put more color in the paint but they couldn't do that so we decided we would just us the color we had. I called  a Mobile screen door repair for the screen door and we have a appointment for July 28 about noon. This is a picture of Alan starting the paint job of the Kitchen with my apron as he did not have some old paint clothes.

Well here it is Sunday again. Alan Ethel and I went to church, then we went to Soup Plantation for lunch. Had a little nap and it started to rain. The Chargers was rained out, so we took off and picked up two pies, one Strawberry & Blueberry and one Peach. It was raining so Alan and I dashed into CostCO to pick them up, then we drove down to Alden's and had dinner with them, there was about 15 people or more. When we came home it was still raining.
Today I received a e-mail to check over from Jared about our Alaska Cruise starting on Sept. 21, 2015. Everything looks good.  So I need to call him next week end to talk about the Ins.

A rainny day

I woke up to thunder and lightening this morning. Ethel made pancakes for breakfast as we had no milk. Alan worked on my computer as I was getting a message that my Crome browser is not protected. Then Alan cleaned the grill under the furnace. We had left over lasagna for lunch which I had made. After lunch we went to Big-5 and Ethel purchased a new rubber for her sling shot but maybe Annie and Karl need to come to use it on those rabbits ha!! Then Alan purchased a few things at Big-5. It was raining so hard like a river when we tried to get in the car. We went to the donut shop and sent Alan in to get donuts then Vons and sent Alan in to get some milk, Ethel and I didn't want to get out of the car.
A couple days ago our electricity was off for a couple hours just before we were going to eat so we quick opened the frig and finished the green jello and made sandwiches as what can you do with out electricity!!! Then we had to go through the procedure of getting everything on line. SURE GLAD ALAN WAS HERE.

Thanks to Alan

Here we are with a little rain today wil write some later.

We went to church and pastor Bruce gave a good message on the story of Jacob and how to pray. Then we went to Marie Callender's for brunch and stopped into Home Depot to pick up some parts for the garden drip system. Its June 2015

As I have been getting up early every morning as after being in bed for several hours I have pain in my hip and leg. Then is my time for me to go to my chair for prayer and Bible reading. This morning I went to the laundry room to do a load of washing, then we had breakfast and I did another load of washing as I haven't done my washing for 22 days. It seems nice to get everything washed up.

This afternoon we went to the club to play hand and foot but we played Mexican train instead  Ethel and I didn't care much for that game.

Yesterday we went to Cost Co and got one of those BBQ chicken so we have had that for 2 days so I guess we will have chicken sandwiches, chicken salad & chicken and dumplings for the next few days. What a great buy as it goes so far for the two of us and it is so good.

Another Day

Yesterday Ethel and I went to ceramics and I am working on some fish for the bathroom. I hope they turn out OK. In the afternoon Ethel and I went to be checked for hearing, we each got a set of hearing aids to try for 2 weeks. Before we went on the Panama cruise I took my old hearing aids to Cost Co to check them before the cruise and they said to have them sent in to be checked as the warranty will run out the next month and when I got them back they have not been good. It is so hard when your hearing goes bad.

Today we went to Gerry's and Elleen's to play hand and foot. We enjoy them very much, soon one the ladies we play hand and foot with will be moving so we will miss her.

Wednesday, May 20, 2015

it's been a while

I guess I had better write something. I had a wonderful day, as usual I got up at about 6:00 am as I have a hard time to sleep in the morning. After resting in my chair and praying  I went to the kitchen to fix some breakfast. I tried to call DMV to see if I could get a morning appointment if some one cancels, as the appointment I got on-line was 2:40 pm July 1. 2015. I don't like that time as there are to many people in the afternoon and I am a morning person. Well there would be a 1 hour wait so I will try tomorrow. Pray that I will pass the test for another 5 years.

Ethel and I started on a 1,000 piece puzzle which Ethel purchased at the yard sale for 50 cents. Also I purchased a Alfred Dunner blouse for $1.00. That is my favorite brand of clothes. I ware it Sunday to Church.

A Beautiful day

The weather is so beautiful, the air so fresh after having the rain. This morning Alan called to wish me Happy Mother's Day as he called and left a message before. So nice to talk to the boys. Alden called and some of his family were sick. Ethel and I didn't go to Church as we were not feeling well from the colds but we are getting better. Also I received a Mother's Day wish from Albert. Today I have been busy making some DVD's of pictures. I am going to make a DVD of pictures of Dad and some special things. Also praying for Abby for her tests. Have been doing some handy work trying to work on some Christmas things.

Down Pour

Last night we really had a good rain, even snow and hail up in the higher elevations. Well we really need the rain here in California. We went to our ceramics class this morning. I made stir fry with shrimp, sure was good. We are trying to get most of the food in the frig. used up as we will go shopping at Wal-Mart and Cost-Co next week. This afternoon we went to the travel meeting and a lady talked on the Cabrillo Park at Point Loma. I guess it will get quite cool tonight. Today I did some arranging of things with my Office.

Feeling Better

It seems like I would never get over this cold. Today I feel better, Ethel is not feeling well. Yesterday we seemed to feel better and we really did a good house cleaning so I think Ethel over did it yesterday. This is the first night that she went to bed so early. Tomorrow I have a 8:10 am appointment for a mammogram, so there is no sleep in.

Home again

We had quite a Panama Cruise trip. This is the way it ended. On April 28, 2015 I got up at 4:00 am as I was unable to sleep. Then Ethel got up and we went for breakfast at about 6:00 am.Went back to our room to wait for color "Purple 3" to announce to leave the ship. Well about 11:00 am it was called. We checked out from Veendam. My leg and hip was painful so I used the cain for the 1st time. A man told us to just follow him. He had the luggage carrier and asked us to pick up our luggage. He passed up every one in line and pulled up a chair for me to sit on while waiting for the next window, then he said OK go ahead. We had our Passport and immigration form checked, he said "follow me" we followed him to the bus. After the bus was loaded we were transported to the Fort Lauderdale Airport. We waited there for our flight to Atlanta on Delta Air. About 3:00 pm we were informed that our flight was cancelled and told us to run to D6 gate to get a flight. When we got there that plane was loaded so they tried to get us a flight to Minneapolis or Detroit then to S.D. She suggested Detroit would be better. So we went to Detroit, flight #2555 and change planes to flight #1635 to San Diego. While at Detroit I left a message on Alden's cell of the change and flight #s.We both had colds on the trip and our ears were so plugged up that we could hardly hear anything and it was very pain full. When we landed in S.D. the doctor came on the plane to take a man in the ambulance that was sick on the flight. Ethel and I walked off the plane and what do you know there was a man waiting with 2 wheel chairs  with names ALAGATA & HUNTLEY on them. He wheeled both of us to pick up our luggage. Then he wheeled us to the curb to wait for Alden to pick us up. I had problems with my cell phone and the man came back and said he had a cell phone so I gave him Alden's phone # and Ethel left a message for Alden. Alden picked us up shortly and he took us all the way to R.B. as McKenna was waiting at our place for Alden to go back home. This morning Alan & Lovely called to go on SKYPE

Monday, April 13, 2015

Everything ready

I want to thank Alan for calling me on 4/11/2015 to inform me of a Panama Canal Cruise on 4/15/2015. We got on SKYPE and called Vacations to Go to check it out. We got all the confirmation for the Cruise to Fort Lauderdale, Florida and fly back to San Diego on 4/29/2015. I am so sorry that I didn't realize that that was Alan & Lovely's anniversary. I guess I was so excited about the cruise and at this point I guess I can't have 2 things on my mind at once. I thank God for helping me with all the paperwork for this, About one hour ago I just received the airplane seat assignments. Today we packed our bags. Tomorrow we will go to Denny's for a seminar on hearing aids with a lunch which will be served. Then we will be going to Rummy-Q at the club.

Pot Luck

Today we made deviled eggs for the Ceramic's Club meeting Pot Luck. There was quite a good attendance. Mary demonstrated how to do silk stencils on ceramics. Maybe I will try it sometime.
Today is the first day we saved the warm-up water from our showers and watered the plants with it.

A man showed on T.V. how to wash the car with a small water bottle of water. Well I have been doing that since we moved hear as they don't allow car washing hear with a hose. I use the car mop to remove the dust first than I use a spray bottle with water, it works quite well. SAVE WATER.

CRUISE NEWS

Check this out
I just received a phone call from the lady that arranges the Cruise. Our cruise has been cancelled as they have a problem with the ship. We will receive a full refund plus a refund for the Ins. and they will send us a coupon of 50% off another cruise on NCL I guess that is better then having trouble on the SEA. Well maybe we will wait for another one at 1/2 price. I thank God that it was found before we went..

Overcast this morning

Yes it sure was overcast this morning. We went to Church then we went to Co-Co's for brunch. We just relaxed at home. We were eating dinner and what shows up is a lizard in the living room. We had the door open and it came in through the bottom of the screen so that will be a job for Alan to replace the rubber on the screen door. We chased it out with the broom hoping it would not go under the sofa.
I like this picture.

Rummy-Q

Today I worked on the beads and  fixed a green salad for lunch. After doing some book work we went to the club to play Rummy-Q. There was a good attendance today. Ethel, Jerry, Mary and I each won $4.00. We had Marie Callenders Chicken Pot Pie for dinner, O soooo gooooood and so easy 2 do. I guess Lovely got back to Taiwan OK as she sent a e-mail of their schedule for this summer to return to the USA. So far we have one task for Alan, that is to paint the kitchen walls and the door to the pantry. I will try and think of some more things to keep him out of trouble.

Hearing aids

I went over to Cost-Co to see if my hearing aids came back from repair and they came back last friday but they didn't call me that they were in but I am so happy that I got themand they seem to be good but I have a appointment to see if they are set right. Ethel took a picture of my camera and the battery so Lovely can see if she can get a battery in Taiwan as they don't seem to have that battery here. So Lovely you will have to check Ethel's Blog to see the picture. I couldn't take a picture without the battery in my camera, I guess that makes sense. The battery is (Lithium-ion NP-700 made in Japan. I am sending a picture of the ceramics we are making as Abby wants to see.

Time with Lovely & Regina

Today Ethel and I went to Church then we came home and Lovely, Regina, Ethel & I walked around the corner to see a townhouse that is for sale asking price is $299,000. Then we went over to Co Co's for lunch and had a good time talking and realized it was 2 years since my dear husband passed away..  At 1:00 pm we went to open house at another townhouse on the same street which is up for sale at $340,000. We came home and realized that my townhouse is much nicer than either of these. I purchased mine a year ago at a total of $260,000. We will still keep our eyes open for what is out there. Lovely & Regina left to go back to L.A. The day was very hot up to about 95 deg.

That is the way

We tried to get what our order was but we had no luck, only if someone cancels out the last minute. But we will go and have a good time anyhow. This morning we trashed the old white desk as the Good Will would not take it as it was in to bad condition. We still have a few pieces of it for the next trash day. We played a couple games of Rummy-Q which we have not done for a while since Ida showed us how to do puzzles on the computers. We went and had our hair cuts also.

Bad Cruise on-line paperwork

On-line paperwork

Very upset with the Panama Cruise, we signed up for (Mid Ship balcony for left side) and what did we get (Fore ward family balcony on right side) what is this I don't understand why they did this as it spoils the whole vacation. We are paying good money for this and they did this to us. I will try to get this fixed right if I can. I know I will do some praying tonight and God will take care.

Some hail today

We went to ceramics this morning and the rain sure came down, then the sun came out when we came home and then it hailed. We are so fortunate that we don't have weather like on the east coast. This afternoon we went to view a town house around the corner from us. We are checking out for Jenny, a friend of Lovely and Alan. As she is wanting to come to live near their daughter.

March marched in with rain

Thanks to Alden for showing up early yesterday morning to repair the rain gutter which came apart during the last rain as the boys didn't put caking on the top section as it seemed to be tight but with the pressure of the rain it came apart. After Alden put caking on it he tied it up with a string to secure it as it was still raining a little. GOOD JOB ALDEN.
Today we went to Church and after Church we came home as it was still raining. We spent a relaxing afternoon at home.

SHOPPING

I made French Tost for breakfast then we decided to go shopping at Wal-Mart and 99 cent store. This afternoon we went to Rummy-Q at the club. Neither Ethel or I did very good. O well we had fun. Lovely said she has to replace a light which was broken that was so old. Lovely try GOOD WILL do you remember when Dad broke one of ours and you found a replacement at GOOD WILL. Alden called tonight and said he did NOT put cocking on the down spout as he thought it was solid enough but I guess the rain was so hard that the weight popped it. We had SDGE check the fireplace and it turned out great but he said we might not want to use it much as it will cause the Gas bill to go up. But I like to use it once in a while.

Rain tonight

We went to church then we went to Denny's for lunch. I checked on a townhome for sale in 7-Oaks which went into escrow yesterday it was selling for $299,000 to $349,000 located at 16684 Orilla Drive. I need to check what it sold for.
When Alan took Ethel and I for a ride we checked the house in I.B. which we rented. The field in front is now a parking lot
This is the house we rented. It looks so different.
